Why we run both
a reseller and an MSP.
Before ModernOps, our founders worked as infrastructure engineers and later as the customers buying from resellers. The deployment-to-operations handoff failed from both seats.
ModernOps combines a value-added reseller and a managed services provider in one company. The engineers who recommend a platform are the ones who monitor it afterward, and the operations team has a say in what gets sold.
That structure changes the design work. An engineer who expects to answer the pager sizes headroom conservatively, chooses vendors on their support record over their demo, and writes the runbook before go-live because the same engineer will be reading it during an outage.
Why the blend matters
What you get from one company doing both.
A reseller typically leaves after deployment, and an MSP typically has little influence on what you buy next. With both practices in one company, what one side learns reaches the other the same week.
The reseller practice tracks releases, licensing changes and hardware roadmaps across more than 50 technology partners. The operations practice watches how those products behave in the environments we manage, around the clock, and reports back when a platform underperforms its datasheet.
